Default Life expectancy of LS1?

How many miles will the average LS1 last ?

I have 99 Z28 with 120,000. Car is in shop now getting most of the engine seals replaced, new water pump ,tune up and wondering how long I can expect the engine to make it before needing replaced

Thanks

depends on how the car is treated. regular matinance like change the oil and dont abuse it and ull get 200k+ miles out of it.

120,001 to 500,000 depending on how you treat it.

Yep, with proper maintenance, and if this tune up really does all that, it should keep running for many many many many more miles.

As with any machinery, an engine, if maintained correctly can run for as long as you can find replacement parts.

While they have the engine pulled to replace the seals, is there anything else I should think about having done ?

what seals are they replacing. front seals do not require the engine to come out. wow if the motors coming out i would pop the pan and replace the oil pump and check/change the bearings. but if a shop is doing it im sure they would charge big bucks. i would be tempted to throw a new motor in if i were u but then could not afford it right now and im sure u are probly in the same boat.

They told me the rear main seal, and 2 other seals

Yeah I really cant afford to go with a new motor but this one still has plenty of power just had the small leaks

I can only spend around $3500 and they already quoted me $3100 so Im sure that will go up before its finished
