Just did timing and oil pan gasket

So after reading a lot about this before doing it and I was prepared for a total nightmare from what everyone was saying. So I loaded up the upper part of my tool box from work came home and steeled myself for a weekend of getting pissed off. Well I'm done now after about a day and a half of working at a leisurely pace I'm done and it really wasn't that bad at all. It sucked a little just because I did it in the parking lot of my apartment and jimmy rigged a jack and 2x4 to raise the engine. I wasnt able to get the oil pan all the way off but I was able to clean off the old gasket and get the new one in just fine. I was going to do my valve cover gaskets too I have Edelbrock rpm xt lt4 heads and apparently lt1 valve cover gaskets are a little shorter then lt4's cuase it didnt fit so temperalry just RTV'ed it till I get the right gasket but all and all it wasn't that bad maybe cuase I spent the last few days at work replaceing the frame on a new impala lol that was a bit of a pain. So anyone thinking about doing this I say go for it it isn't as bad as it seems

I wasn't one who posted that it was a nightmare. An engine hoist makes life simple

I sliced my oil pan gasket and added rtv to where the slice was and never thought twice about doing that. No leaks, no fuss, no muss

Also, using a hoist gives you more room underneath for taking a nap. My creeper has a nice cushion for the head

Lol nice. I got a felpro gasket it was nice and bendy and easy to get in there once I droped the pan a few inches.
