Default Jet Chip Module 2 Peformance

Hi, everyoneI have a 1995 Z28 Camaro (Dual Cats) California car i believe. And i am looking into buying a jet chip module 2 for about $250. They say it will improve my mpg and hp by about 23. Does anyone have any experience if these chips are worth buying or not and if it is illegal for my car since it might be a california car. Ya cuz some people said they are crap and others say that they have shaved off .5 of there 1/4 mile times. My main goal is to get down the track faster than my brothers 98 TA, it runs 13.9's. Thank you

Alot of people are going to say you cant chip a 4th gen... but i think jet makes some sort of adapter... i wouldnt trust the websites numbers since they are probably not what your gonna make on a track. I would go with a tuner, that way you can control everything, customize everything and not be restricted to a preset tune.

Get some exhaust or something else first. Chips won't make a noticeable difference but exhaust will. If you do need to change things up, go with a tune instead. No, chips aren't illegal in California.

Well if your gonna get a tune you might as well get a set of gears. As for your intake/exhaust. Do you just have a muffler/filter and foil? Because those are the tips of the iceberg. I suggest before you get a tune you go with full exhuast headers back and a full intake system and gears.. some bolt ons here and there THEN tune your computer to utilize EVERYTHING. The good thing about a tuner is if you want to do something else you can always go back and change your setup.

yeah thats hardly doing any good. Do some bolt ons (full exhaust/intake maybe gears)and then get a tune.

hey i got a question if my K&N air filter gives me 10hp lets say and the K&N cold air intake gives my car 18 horsepower. i would have to get rid of my old k&n cuz doesnt the intake have a k&n filter on it. so i would only be gaining 8 hp?
