Last time i checked, japanese sports cars are not weak. Hp per liter owns american cars. Supra, skyline, siliva, 300z, rx7, cosmo, all very tough jap cars. Supra's and skyline are making 1,000+ horse on stock internals.

because they already factored in the cost of replacing internals 3x into the original price of the car

and power/liter IS ricer math.. who cares about that? same thing with Power/Cylender. but i agree, there's plenty of bad *** jap cars, but like specter said, they came stock with alot of the aftermarket stuff like internals. when you get people building a car for 15cents a hour, you have alot of room to move.. lol.

V8's still have the most potential out of any motor out there though, including Euro motors. i've never seen anything but a V8 hold 8000HP. or hold 1500HP, and hardly ever break down.

youre right, power per liter means nothing......and enough top fuel talk. those dont really apply to street cars. But if that what you want...http://videos.streetfire.net/Player....6F472C&p=0

Yenko, they replace the internals of top fuel motors after every 1/4 mile. 1/4 of the cars have some issue when they're going down the track, like blowing head gaskets, or blowing a piston through the head or something like that. Would you flaunt the reliability of your car if 1 out of every 4 times you started it the motor blew?

I agree that V8's have the most potential of motors, but Pro-Stock would be a much better comparison, although they rebuild those after every race too...import, I'm not trying to flame, but that car is impressive, but I think a Pro-Stock is more impessive, a N/A V8 running a carb does better times than that. Just pointing that out.

For the average joe, a V8 will throw down bigger numbers than your average jap car. It's simple physics/math/whatever and there is just no replacement for displacement. Sure, some guys have their rice burner boosted running 25psi, but for the most part its a no-go. I used to own an eclipse, in fact I was a DSM enthusiast before my friend Dave converted me once I saw the power of his 5.0 and he now has a 383 iroc.
