Default Interior lights and Dash panel flashes

It seems lately when i go to get in my car after it has sat for a few hours without running the interior lights and dash panel blinks and flashes when i put the key in, and im not able to start the car untill the blinking stops which takes anywhere from 10-30 sec. Ive already replaced the ground wire so I know it cant be that, but any help will be appreciated, thanks. 96 z28 5.7L v8 350 LT1 engine

it usually does it when the car has sat for a longer period of time 2-5 hrs or if it is really cold the flashing of the lights and dash are in equal increments between each other it seems to happen the second i open the door and lasts anywhere from 1-30 seconds and every light on my dash blinks SES, ABS INOP, security etc

My guess is that your alarm is not being deactivated when you unlock the door. The alarm goes off engaging the kill switch (with the horn silenced). When you put the key in, it resets the alarm.

I would roll down your window and lock the car. (Arm the alarm) Then I would reach in and unlock the door. Within 8 seconds the alarm should go off. I would be interested to see if it does. If it does, does it show the same characteristics as when you first open the door? (Flashing dash lights)
