I need pads and rotors, and opinions!

Looking at getting new pads and rotors. I do drive hard . I could just get stock or ebc,or ssbc brake kits,or something else. I like the ebc ultimax pads and flat rotors,250.00, the ssbc brake rotor kit at summit is 340.00. Do I need them? Stock be just fine ?ac delco stuff? What's the deal with vented and slotted? Over kill for a d/d,claim they help with galling of rotors and venting of heat which I do have some big hills that eat up my brakes. Should I upgrade or stick with stock,I got 39,000 on them now and they pulse some going down hill now ,advice please.

i like hawk ceramic pads. currently using powerstop drilled and slotted and hawk ceramic pads. seem to work ok considering... lol. ls1 brake conversion is on my list.

on your low miles v6 we are talking need rotors already, actually there pretty big for the v6 cars stock I have a set of ceramic ready for my base ,an will put just new stock roters in front like $50.00 a set ,pads $20.00 front a rear would be like $150.00,your rear ones should only need change 2 or 3 times for every one time in front, then I don't rely to much on quick breaking unless I have to ,breaks can last well over 50,000 if one does not break hard ,my 95 has the same front pads from 8 years ago 40.000 when I bought it an still good,i thought you said in one post you got like 35.000 on the car

I'm at 39,000 now. They pulse some,on a slow stop they are jerky and the other day I was doin 70 and hit the brakes hard and it was wobbling the steering wheel and car was shaking pretty good. My car came from a golfer,it is hilly around here mabe that's reason or he was like me,drive to fast. I'll get stock stuff, the front rotors are pretty flat the backs are the ones that are galled up .

I think they all pulse as they get older mine only pulce when I have hit them hard ,I don't know if ls1 upgrade better yes bigger one should help sloted I live in the hillls too ,but I break early then most ,an down shift on few hills to 2nd gear just a quick down shift pops to about 2200 rpm,s helps I think ,realy I never heard of rears going before front ever ,yup just trying to help you save money, could be many thing though you checked the gap are the pins making noice tires can couse it out of balance ,control arm bushing front end alighment

Doing them now, back first ,pads wer down 1/8 " outsides little better ,looks like they weren't sliding good, summer car related I think, got stock stuff and ceramic pads front and back and new rotors, 288.00 total so far, plus 2 cans brake clean,6$.

check your ball joints and tierod ends for play. sounds like you got something lose up there. lower ball joints and outer tierod ends seem to be the wear points. shocks dictate ride and handling on these cars so if they is old and worn you need to start looking at replacing. bilstein are a good one for 4th gens at a good price, koni are the best but cost arm and leg, they do make a sport shock now thats lower priced.

Thx,the wheel wasn't shaking that bad,it did more coming from rear and just transmitted thru car to front, I think,I just got my tires and got lucky and got a master tech who knew I'm **** and took care of me and did a sweet job. He did once over and said all good the complimentary alignment was spot on ,was prolly just done cuz old tires were from 09 but dry rotted ,bet they got previous owner for it. I'm going to do shocks in fall prolly, give me enuf time time decide to lower it a tiny bit or not, mabe stiffer springs ,the ride is plush now ,handles okay but I need more, found some ss sway bars local for 100 ,put them in soon c how car likes them.

a new pad has just over 3/8ths new so they were not bad ,seems your roters were pitted ,so you did all new rotter an pads I just have not heard about that the first time around ,generally you can get 2 or 3 sets from the front an more from the back ,though at what some guys get to resurface them you can practically buy new ones ,well concidering a brake job can cost $800.00 all the way around ,doing it your self saves a lot ,its funny this came up as I am going to try car monitoring on my 99 an try to save 25% after 90 days on insurance ,an they keep track of your brakeing ,cant do my 95 couse no computer anymore
