Default I have a question about key locks.

I have a 1994 Chevy Camaro V6 3.4L Car. Randomly one day I went to unlock or lock the car and the lock came out. I tried to put the lock back In but It Just doesnt seem to want to stay In there or want to stay In place. I saw that there was this rubber ring on the lock but that doesnt seem to work or help anything because no matter how long I have spent I cant get the lock to go back Into place then stay In place. I can get the lock to go back In and stay there but If I put my key In I have to hold the lock at the same time to not let It move and I am wondering how these go back In or If there Is a clip that Is supposed to be on the lock because all I see It a rubber ring thanks then.

yes there is a clip on the inside. gona have to take the cover off to get to it to fix and see if you can find the clip at the bottom of the door. be a good idea to get a new clip.

That is assuming that nothing was broken. Mine was broken and I wasn't about to replace my whole door because of it.

As Craby said, there is a metal clip that holds the lock cylinders in from the back side. Sometimes they break and it sounds like your's may have.

You can sometimes find the clips at the auto parts store on the rack of miscellaneous parts (door handles, grommets, clips, etc) for about $2 for a bag of 3-4.

i quit using the aftermarket manuals unless i cant find a factory book. they have so many years and models that the info is limited. have a look at them and see which look to be best for you. lol, i would at least look for the info i needed. shbox is good for some info. here is a link to how to change the window motor, about half way down it tells how to remove the door cover.
