In any SS car look for the WU8 on the door or if it is missing on the door then look here.

Oh and 97 was the first year for the SS.

Actually 96 was the first SS model year.

I wouldnt buy it unless they come clean and tell you it a Z28 and not a 35th SS. Even then I wouldnt give them 20,000 for it. A 2002 z28 has a book value of $10,800 in excellent condition and since the car has been repainted its not in excellent condition. I wouldnt give him morre then $15,000 and thats without trading your car in.

I sent the seller an email this morning telling him the that car wasn't a true SS and he basicaly told he to **** off. So like I said before if they dont come clean and tell you its a SS clone and drop the price about 5 grand then id walk. If they're going to lie about that who knows what else there not telling you. Plus you live in Texas I'd bet there all kinds of really nice cars for sale. Well whatever you deside to do I wish you the best of luck.

Dude, you are the man lol! Thanks! I'm going to call slp to verify before, then show up and call again in front of them. I really like the car, I don't care if it's a clone. I'll debadge it like I did my car.

It is a clone... Didn't you see my post with the RPO codes broken down? There was no WU8 code listed and that is the ONLY SS code. A car can be sent to SLP for the SS treatment but it will not get any SS goodies like badging or they carpet mat or seat stitching. This is a nice car... not 20K nice but still nice. And it is NOT an SS period. Call SLP in front of them may or may not work. They will prolly tell you to **** off and wait for some idiot that does not know how to verify an SS from a V6 car. I have pissed a few dealers around me off by telling them that their SS was not an SS at all... They gave the guy that traded it in SS value and found out they didnt have an SS. One dealer was really pushing me to buy the car too. It was nice but my wife and I are looking for a true SS not a clone.
