Question How much $$ to buy and maintain

I bought a modified 94Z in September with high miles. Ever since then, I keep racking up the expenses. I was wondering how much in general it has cost folks here to buy and maintain their Camaros - as this is my first.

no different that other 15 to 20 yr old car. if its been kept up and cared for over the years then costs will for the most part will be consistent. if not then costs are most likely going to be high. costs are also tied to use, if you beat the crab outa the car cost will go up, if driven responsibly, not. my fist 93, i changed the oil and plugs and for 100k miles no issue. this one has a rich issue i cannot figure out.

My 94Z had 182k when I bought it. I've lost count of the money I've put into it, but I've replaced the following:

Opti
spark plugs
wires
water pump/thermostat
AC compressor, evaporator and expansion valve
K&N CAI
wheels (craigslist find)
tires
muffler (took off that gawd aweful flowmaster and put on a magnaflow)
steering rack
outer tie rods
sway bar end links and bushings, front and back
upper and lower front ball joints
strut tower brace
O2 sensors
Code scanner
repainting as I go along....

Probably around $3000 - $4000 since I bought it, less than a year ago. I dont drive mine hard, but will eventually get to a point where most everything is new so it will slow down. BUT, I dont have a car payment either.

Some things I want to do still:

New sway bars, control arms, torque tube, all that suspension stuff in the back.
Engine rebuild
short throw shifter, LT4 cam, headers, etc
new struts
sub frame connectors
new weather stripping for the doors/t-tops.
would love to upgrade to a leather interior, but thats on the long list...

I bought my camaro in August and other than inspection all I've had to pay so far is 7 bucks for a new turning signal bulb

I really dont spend much on maintenance. Mine only has 93,000 miles and was well maintained its whole life so doesn't really have many problems. Your car is almost 20 years old now and as you said has high miles so naturally things are going to need replaced.
