How to install an aftermarket steering wheel (4th gen)

Been a while, but Mother Nature doesn't like us on the east coast. I put a 2" piece of 2" PVC pipe (painted black to match) between the short hub adapter and wheel lock to resolve the shaking. Had to remove the clockspring to do so, but I wasn't using it anyway. I'll eventually get a straighter piece in there and edit the how-to to reflect the current status

Ok dumb question, I want an aftermarket steering wheel but not really a quick release, can I attach the wheel directly to the short hub, or is their something else I can use so I don't have to go the quick release route?

So removing the clock spring ( since I have to steering wheel controls ) would be ok? All I need is the horn. But I've heard it effects traction control and abs.possibly turn signals. But not too sure of that because that's not attached directly to the steering wheel.
