Honest Question and a Honest Answer
So i currently have 1999 Black camaro RS V6 with some slight mods and I maintain it to keep it in great running condition. its currently at 83,500 miles. Heres my dilemma do i continue to modify my car aka get headers next and so on. Or just halt everything continue to maintain and just save up money and then sell my car at around 90,000 miles and buy my self a 98+ z28 or SS with low miles. What do you guys think? I think if i decided to do so I would get a manual v8 and work on that as my project car.

Save up your money for the LS1. It may be harder to find one with a manual since the newest Camaro is at least 6 years old. Whether you get a auto or manual depends on a plethora of factors, one major one being application. Personally I haven't heard anything bad about an automatic LS1. Currently there are two LS1 vehicles in my garage. One with a T56, and one with a 4l60e. The one with the 4l60e has a little over 100k mi and still works great. If I were you though, I would definately opt for an LS1 with a T56 (insert burnout smiley) you're almost guaranteed to have more fun.

RE: Honest Question and a Honest Answer
t56 is the only manual tranny for the v8 4th gens. autos are fine in the camaros as well. in fact, autos are easier on the rear, so you can go faster with an auto.
