I'm trying to buy into the replace the rear insulators with a heater hose (i boguht a 5/8" one) and was wonderign for the back all i do is remove the wheels and pull the spring or do i have to unbolt anything else? and does the hose have to go asround the entire spring or jsut the top end?
thanks guys =]

After reviewing that mod post, i stand corrected. That would not be noticeable to an inspection mechanic. Looks like it knocks off about an inch. I thought you might be referring to heating the coils or some other such back yard mod.

its more common and probably safer to cut a coil off of the spring.

To answer your other question, you don't want to take your wheels off. You need to unbolt only one end of both shocks, and your panhard/sway bars. Jack the car up by the frame, and the rear tires will stay on the ground. Jack it up enough to clear the springs and pull them right out.

The mod looks easy enough, but how does it effect the ride? I've been looking at the Summit springs in thier catolog. They cost $160 for about a 1.5inch drop. Has anybody used these? Are they worth the money compared to the mod?
