Default High heat paint

Hey guys just got the maro back this afternoon, gave her a quick wash, and cruised all day. Now its late at night and I popped my hood to double check all fluids and I seen my air intake.. all plain looking. I searched thru my dads shed and found BBq grill paint. Its flat black, it says it stands spikes of up to 1200 degrees F and 600 degrees f for prolonged periods. Is this safe to paint the 3.4 SFI part? Also, another quick question, when the car is running I smell something almost bur ning. Its not strong just a paint smell. Could also be just me, but I was curious is this normal after the top half of the engine is re built. Thanks again guys

yes the heat is burning off any leftover cleaning solvent or heating the new paint (if there is any) which makes a smell kinda like your getting.
