Where do these 2 o rings that came in my timing cover gasket set go ?

on either side of the waterpump shaft just keeps the shaft from rattling

I put a light coating of grease on the splines of my water pump shaft, so it wouldn't be dry on dry metal to cause a rattle. So my o-rings holds in the grease and prevents rattles!
