Default Help With My Model On 96 Camaro with LT1

Hey guys I bought my Camaro from my frieds mom and after talking to him, he said it was a special edition and I was unaware of any special editions other than the SS. So is there any way to find out what model I have?
Thanks 96 Camaro LT1

RPO codes (should be in glove box) will give you the all the options the car came with. Other than the SS model there were no other "special editions" for the LT1. SS's came with 17 in 5 spoke rims and functional hood scoop and of course, SS badges on the side/rear.

There are no badging on it, but it was repainted, and it came with he ss style hood, is there any way to get the ss hood from the factory with out getting the ss package?

Anyone could have bought a ss hood for it.

Only 2,000ish 96 ss made, so if you have one.. Your really lucky.

Look for the SPID code R7T inside the door or glove box.

Edit: pm me the vin, and I'll run it for you.

Yeah the hoods are simple to get. The wheels are the only other things really different, but again, any one can buy and replace. RPO codes don't lie. The vin may or may not tell you if it's an SS or not depending on what program you use to run it.

Also, M6 or A4. T-tops or no?

B4C (police package car) ? I am leaning toward this due to the fact its an A4 with no t-tops. RPO codes will tell you though. Also the fact that it has a lack of badging.

Did the police package come with power mirrors, windows etc? And the LT1?

Then I doubt it's an SS. Only SS's I've ever seen were M6 but hey you never know. And you and me both. I just don't like t-tops which is how most came.

Any ways, I'm honestly leaning towards a regular Z here with maybe the optional rear gears. I'm guessing your friend (with no disrespect) doesn't know what he's talking about.
