OMG... I went ahead and replaced the whole unit since I wasn't familiar with the bulb-replacement method... I kept the old sealed beams, took them home, and just with a little elbow grease and my bare hands I managed to twist out the old bulbs!

I'm totally keeping the old housing so that next time I have a bulb blow, I can seal it into the old housing, swap it for the ones in there, and then save those ones for a rainy day, too! That's way too easy to be worth spending more'n twice as much on the whole unit.

 

^ Uh-huh. They sure turned what should be a simple bulb replacement into a money maker, didn't they? As you figured out (too late) it ain't rocket surgery!
