Default Headers on V6

I want to put Mid length headers on my V6. What is the difficulty of doing this myself? BTW I'm not mechanically inclined. Also, how much would the install be if I took it to a shop?

it wouldnt be too hard just a couple bolts but the way these cars were designed its a pain in the *** to get at the rear of the engine im pretty sure labor is around 90 an hr depending on how long it would take call around your local shops are you going to get your own headers or have them get them for you? its possible they could get them a little cheaper what kind of headers were you looking at i found a set of pace setters for around 250 but i have a 3.4

Maybe I'll see if a shop can order me one. I was planning on getting these pacesettershttp://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.co...P40701209.html. Are these painted ones worth the cash? I've heard the coated ones are the way to go but these are way cheaper.

those are the exact ones i was looking at but for the 3.4 i like them and DarlingReject said shes got them and loves em ceramic coated is nice keeps the temp down but you could easly go to autozone and get heatwrap and save yourself like 100 bucks

It will not take paint headers long to rust. Even the old aluminum coated headers that where not suppost to will rust. I have a pair on my 67. I am not sure if the ceramic have a life time warranty or not. Thats why I went with Stainless.

I have the Pacesetter headers and I love them. They were definitely worth the money and then some. The 'paint' on them flakes right off, it's just a coating to make them look pretty at first. They have not rusted yet and have been installed since the end of February. And don't use heat wrap, it will promote rust even faster and will hold water. If you want to paint them, get rid of the coating it comes with, repaint and bake. It even says it is not a high temp paint on the headers. The difficulty wasn't extremely high, but there was a lot of finagling involved. Might as well get plugs and wires while you're at it, they might get broken in the process.
