Header installation question

Default Header installation question

So my bf and I are installing my Pacesetter headers on Saturday along with doing other front end work to get ready for inspection and the track. But he wants to know if you need to use anything on the bolts to attach the headers to the heads, like Locktite? Any advice would be appreciated.

and an additional question, what size is the stock y-pipe and cat inlet? the pacesetter is a 3", idk if im going to need a reducer to go into the stock cat. its a 98 3.8

nah factory bolts will do just fine just make sure you tq to specs,and id say you will need a reducer if your running stock size pipe.

if anything use some thread sealant. dont want to use thread lock on exhaust bolts.
i thought the cat had a 2 7/8 inlet but not sure.

Thanks craby. Is the thread sealant called anything specific, or is it just 'thread sealant'? I'm making my final parts run tomorrow and I need to try to pick everything up.

i use permatex high temp thread sealant. px 59235
