Default Had my insurance appraisal done yesterday...

He valued it at $16k. I'm happy with that. Hopefully the insurance co. is too.

$140 for an hour's work. I am in the wrong business....

When my 2000 V6 was totalled, it was valued at $6,700. And it was bone stock with 125K on the odo. As well cared for as Randy's Z is (and as much work as he's done on it in the past few months), I'm not terribly surprised.

Great news still, though!

Mind you, if I could sell it for $16k, I'd do it in a heartbeat....There's this early 2nd gen RS I have my eye on at $18,500....

Wow, that is pretty good! What all did you do to the car to add over $10k to it's value? Realistically though, your car is probably worth more as an insurance claim as opposed to actual street value.

Insurance Appraisals are always a lot higher then what the real value is but that's still pretty high.

I guess thats good if you have full coverage insurance and you want a payout for all you have invested in it if (knock on wood) it gets totaled....(I know I feel like I have that much in mine...lol)..I just prefer the lower premiums ($136 every 6 months) to keep liability only on mine.

Here's the list I gave to the appraiser, this is replacement values, certainly not what I paid for it all.

UPGRADES:
DG MOTORSPORTS TONNEAU COVERS - $600
EIBACH SPORTLINE SPRINGS - $300
KYB AGX ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS - $700
QA1 ADJUSTABLE PANHARD BAR - $150
OEM CORVETTE C5 Z06 WHEELS - $ 800
FALKEN FK552 TIRES - $900
MAPTECH HEADUNIT ADAPTER $100
Kenwood KDC-BT652U Head Unit - $250
Lanzar 800w Amp, Lanzar dual 10" subs. - $400
SLP COLD AIR INTAKE - $250
CUSTOM PAINT (LEXUS STARLIGHT MICA BLACK PEARL) $5500
MAGNAFLOW CAT-BACK EXHAUST - $800
EDELBROCK STRUT TOWER BRACE - $150
EDELBROCK SHORTY HEADERS - $500
CUSTOM Z/28 SHIFT **** - $100
TOTAL REPLACEMENT COST OF UPGRADES: $11,500

Yep, like most toys, worth more totaled than working. My boat was the same way. I was tempted to sink that thing twice a week...
