H22 Honda Vs LT1 Camaro
Before everyone jumps down my throat about my camaro being in bad condition hear me out. Some of you may remember the moron who had a non-vtec pos 90 integra with sweet spray painted rims and 0 mods other than a mystery stroke from a 1.8L to a 2.3... Well he doesnt have a car because he took his engine out for some B series honda engine which hasnt happened and he took his engine out about a month ago... His myspace headline says "I love ****ting on V8s"... just to give you an idea... Anyway he has a friend with a H22 Honda and he thinks it can beat me i looked em up and it looks like their 200hp engines but the car weighs 2800lbs or so. Today is high school drags but i have to work [:@]but what are my chances?

I had both the h22 and the h23 vtec motors and several b series motors turboed and all motor. The h22 will easily put out 175-190 horses to the wheels with intake headers and exhaust. Whats so special about the h series compared to the b series is that the h series have a lot more tq. Usually in the 135-150 range( I know your thinking like what hell but it doesnt take much to get these little cars moving. A b series will have 112-135 tq in stock form. As far as weight, you wish his car weighed 2800 pounds. Its more in the range of 2300. God forbid if its a hatch that has been gutted and they took up the sound deadening out the car. I have had several 12 sec hondas. One of them was my h23 vtec. I had crower stg 2 cams tit valve springs tit valves double valve springs skunk intake manifold, 72 mm throttle body, 4-1 race header w/ straight pipe, my compression was 11.5.1 and a whole bunch of other supporting mods. I would beat on stangs and camaros all day long and they were moded to. Not heavily modded but they were definately not stock. With just a bone stock h22 motor in a hatchback you are looking at a consistent 13 sec car with a good driver. Basically If I were you and knowing what I know I would not race him for money your chances are against you because I know that your car has been through hell and back a few times. If the kid can drive its a toss up. Really would come down to driver error. If he had a b series I would almost automatically say you won.
Yea there are some sorta quick Hondas out there, but for every one that runs in the 13's there are dozens that run 15's. Realisticly the odds of running into a fast Honda on the street are pretty slim.
