Or am I missing something?
1997 30th anniversary Z28, 40k miles, with an LT freakin 4, with a retarded cowl hood and different front fascia, for $8500?
To me, an 30th is something you should just leave alone and allow to appreciate in value over the years... You don't really need to screw with it any to make it awesome, because it already is. AND - this thing is a freaking LT4, AND it is low mileage, and for $8500??? LT4 30th's are pretty rare, right? Or am I wrong about that?
Sucks that the guy dropped a MICROWAVE on it, but why not put money towards getting it professionally repaired rather than blowing money on a stupid cowl hood for such a freakin collectible?
I donno. Maybe the 30th anni with LT4 isn't as big of a deal as I thought it was (?)
BTW, theres a 30th SS LT1 on autotrader with 40k and t-tops for $14k... Man... would owning 2 LT1s mean I'm crazy?
EDIT:
Sorry, I think I was misled by his description. He just swapped some LT1 parts with LT4 parts. My opinions still stand, though. Decent mods, but a 30th doesn't deserve it imo.

RE: Is this guy an idiot?
they make alot of anniversary cars, the 30th really isnt that special. the 2002 with the "last of the breed" badge could be worth something..... some day..... not now
the paint doesnt look too bad, not my thing, cuz i like the sleeper aspect, but if i were into cowls i dont see why not. and 8.5 is about right for the years and milage.
but hey, u dont have to be smart to sell a car, so he still could be an idiot theres no tellin

If I had money sitting around I'd buy it! The price is probably a little low because it has parts that are unpainted so it looks kinda ghetto. Plus, you never get your money back from mods, and he realizes that.

RE: Is this guy an idiot?
Ok, fair enough.
I wasn't sure how rare 30th's were. I really have a soft spot for them though. I love the white /w orange, and white wheels and white interior.
I don't have a problem with cowl hoods. I'd just hate to see someone modding out a collectible car.
Does anyone know how many 30th anniversaries were made (SS or Z28, w/ t-tops)?

RE: Is this guy an idiot?
It looks like 957 Special Edition 30th Anniversary Camaro SS's(white with orange stripes) were produced, 100 of which came with the LT4. Any 1997 was considered a 30th Anniversary car and came with embroidered seats, but only the White with Hugger Orange stripe SS's are considered the special Edition.

RE: Is this guy an idiot?
To go with what 95slvr, there were only 100 LT4's put in Camaro's that year. This doesn't look like it's one of them, as Puck claims. He only stated it had the hotcam and the LT4 timing chain. Maybe he's not an idiot.

RE: Is this guy an idiot?
It cannot be one of the cars that came stock from the factory with the LT4 due to the fact that it is not a Special Edition SS, it doesn't have the badges or the Hugger Orange stripes. The LT4 hotcam and timing chain are aftermarket, he's still running the stock LT1 heads. It's not like he's modding a super collectable car, it's just like putting a hood on any other 97...
