Default Green Switch Under Dash???

Anyone know what this does?

I am in the midst of installing the DPIC gauge I bought and ran across it.

Behind the center console on my '95.

It looks factory...no clue what it does though...

The switch looks aftermarket. Being in the heat plenum (not a normal place for a switch), it looks to me like someone may have wired in a hidden kill switch. Have you tried it to see what it does?

Doesn't seem to do anything. 2 wires run up behind the glove box, but I can't see that it affects anything in the car at all.

I emailed the PO, maybe he can shed some light...

please don't touch that switch when someone is in the passenger seat. I saw that used once in a James Bond movie

It's a switch for the cloaking device. Mine has one too.

Touch both wires to your tongue, see if you feel a little zap! That's how I test 9v transistor batteries. Test meter, test schmeter!
I take it you tried starting the engine with the switch in both positions?

Default mystery switch solved

PO emailed me back. Apparently he wired it in for the amp.

I've never heard of a head unit that didn't have a remote amp wire, but apparently his did.

Anyone know where I can get my hands on a Martin-Baker ejection seat? I have this switch left over now, I might as well do SOMETHING with it...

Ah well, I got my DPIC gauge hooked up today anyway, seems to work pretty well. I just need to get the car weighed to dial it in a bit.

My best 1/4 mile today was 14.37 @ 103mph according to that. Seems a bit fast for what I actually did. Won't know for sure how accurate it is until I get it to the track in the spring...

I guessed at 3600# with my 190lbs in the drivers seat. About a 100 lbs of stereo and other assorted crap + fuel (1/4 tank).

I'll get some pics of the install later...I just mounted it in the cubby beneath the head unit. It was the least invasive place I could put it. Didn't want it on the pillar or dash.
