RE: Good Headers?
Depending on how deep your pockets are...
http://www.kookscustomheaders.com/
Kooks is expensive, but considered the "best" you can get as far as quality, power, torque and fit goes. All stainless, made when you order them (so they're not just chucking them out of a factory, every set of headers is made for you), tuned and fit the best according to GM High Performance. I love my Kooks, they're the best header I've ever seen. Check out www.speed-eng.com they have sales on Kooks products some times, they're where I got mine from and I was extremely pleased.

Dynatech is my second choice for an LT1 header. They aren't quite on the same level as Kooks, but they're a good header for a decent price (check www.summitracing.com for pricing), they're stainless, coated and tuned as well.

Pacesetter would be my last choice for a header. They're the cheapest (for a reason), but if you're on a budget they'll do. You're going to be sacrificing low end torque because they are not tuned, a little bit of top end power because they aren't going to flow as well and they're not going to fit as well either (I've heard issues of people having to dent their brand new coated Pacesetter headers to get them to clear the firewall on an LT1). You can get them coated, which is recommended because they're not made of stainless, so if you just get them painted they're likely to rust through.
You're going to want to look into a Y-pipe to fit the new headers. Idealy you want one that is from the manufacture of the headers so you can guarantee it fits, but you can get by with a generic one if need be.
