Good Exhaust Setup?
 

Hi, im new on these forums and this is my first post.

Im getting a 99 z28 in a the next couple weeks. I was wondering if my combo for my exhaust setup is a good one and if not, can you please post suggestions?
Beacuse i want my car to be loud as hell, enough to turn on car alarms and hear it from a mile away.
Heres my future setup:
-Pacesetter Long Tube LS1 Headers & Texas SpeedOff RoadY Pipe

- Loud Mouth LS1 Exhaust

- K&N Ram Air Kit

TSP Camshaft, PRC Spring Kit & Pushrod Package

Total: $2013

Thats pretty much what i want in it :)
But the problem is i dont know if i should buy the cam package or just the cam itself.

Also would i need anything else to keep this system running good?

I would go w/SLP for their FlowPac, and Kooks for the headers & Y...

I agree with Kooks for the headers and Y pipe, as far as the intake I'm not sure if the brand is going to make much of a difference. You want to go with the cam package because you always want your cam matched with your valve springs so you don't risk floating a valve.

The SLP FlowPac is a more comprehensive air-intake solution, complete with an additional air intake just in front of the radiator, in addition to a hood scoop...

the flopac is also much cheaper. however you dont even really need all that. just an slp lid is enough, the gains of the smooth bellows and the little scoop arent much.

I have pacesetters on my TA, they fit awesome so i didnt see any need to pay extra for kooks.

i agree with the above, go with a cam package so u know the springs can take it. if you really want the ram air i think your setup is pretty good. what catback are you planning on using?

thnx for the responses :)

ummm i was really thinking about the kooks headers but i mean if the pacesetters fit well, then does it really justify the price difference?
what are some of the effects of the headers not fitting perfectly?

A friend of mine was telling me about the SLP Flow Pac, so now im guessing ill go with those instead because of the response i got here.

Thanx for the advice on the cam package, so i definitely will be going for that instead.

and i am not getting a cat on the Y pipe...since its a ORY...

but will the catback help it sound louder or it just for emmission purpose only?

Cat back exhaust has nothing to do with emissions, it's all about looks and sound as well as a little bit of extra flow.

The benefit of having Kooks headers over the Pacesetter is Kooks headers are a true tuned header, so you're going to end up making better low end torque numbers and the Kooks are going to get you a little better HP gain as well since the tubes are 1 mandrel bent piece and they have a better designed collector. I know with the LT1 some people have had to dent the collector on the header to get it to clear the firewall. With a better fitting header you're typically going to see better ground clearance as well because they can get the collector closer to the bottom of the car.
