The car also was not mint for that price. Front speakers blown. windshield washer fluid holder removed. Antennna was broke. 4 or 5 small gigarette burns/ ashs in the ash tray. plastic seal around window/ window scratched from break in? t-top/ winshield scratced. Rim 1/4 inch of lip broke and scratched. Minor grease on seat and few spots carpet. All minor things that could be fixed but not that I want to fix for that price. Plus a tv screen in the roof why? Was dissapointed car had good potential but screw the price. I'm going to call on this one and try to see it this weekend.

He did not pay the price the dealer was asking. He bought it wholesale. Most likely he paid 11-12K for it. Most used car lots like to make about 50% on every sale. Cars that go at the auction for $5,000 will show up on the dealer floor for $11,999. Some of these smaller lots only sell 4-5 cars a months. Imagine if they only sold 4 cars and made 3K on each. That is 12K a month. Or 140K a year. Even a small 3 man operation needs to turn 500K gross profit a year just to stay in business. Heck I have known used car salesmen that made 140K a year working for someone else.

Does he have your number? If so you will most likely get a call in the next day or two. If not he has bits from somewhere else. When I bought my Monte used I made an offer, they laughed at me. A day later then called and wanted to meet in the middle. I told them my original offer still stands don’t bother me unless you can get where I wanted and hung up on him. Day before the end of the month I got the call, they agreed to my terms. At larger lots you can get some great deals at the end of the month if the sales manager has not made his monthly goal.

Not to mention that the paint looks shabby in some spots too. That car is in serious need of a buffer. I don't blame you for walking, just keep looking til you find exactly what you want.
