Gear Ratio in camaro 98 LS1

Im wondering what gear ratio i would have in the rear end,i called the dealer with the ser# but they said that it didnt tell them.Does anyone know what it would have,i wanna put 3:73 in it that should wake it up a bit.

Thanks Brad.

2:73/2-series carrier or 3:23/3-series carrier for a automatic and 3:42/ 3-series carrier with the manual. Only 10-bolt ratios available so check your RPO codes or pull the cover.

Thanks thats what i thought around those numbers.Do u think 4:10 will be too much gear for a stock motor?

4.10 will be crazy on an auto, prob max out at about 140ish but get there damm fast, usually 3.73 on auto and 4.10 on manual

code on you door tells you exact ratio, GU2 , GU3 etc etc

think you'll have GU2 for a 2.73

I would say with an LS1, you probably have 3.42's. That's my wild guess :D
