Default gauge fuse keeps blowing

I have a 93 v6 automatic the gauge cluster fuse keeps blowing and I found 2 wires melted together that go to my brake pedal switch what do these wires go to? My brake lights work fine, I just put in a new transmission I was wondering g if maybe the plugs on the trans would make those wires melt?

This is a pic of the wires, the brake pedal switch has 2 plugs one with 2 wires and one with 3, and they are covered by the blue cap thing you see in the pic, what do these wires go to?

Stepping on the brake pedal defeats the torque converter lockup and cruise control. I'd have to see a schematic to see what's what. Were you having this fuse problem with the old transmission?

The instrument cluster needs power to enable the alternator.
Blown Gages fuse=no alternator output.

The Gages fuse also provides power to one section of the brake switch which is connected to the transmission TCC solenoid (light-blue/black wire at pin A of the transmission connector)

Melted wires are never good. Fix those first and test for shorts. Wiring diagram would cut down the time significantly.
