fun fact of the day

just wanted to let all of you know that the 3800 (any series) just made it to the number 1 best engine ever built

Too bad I never had one. My mechanic kept praising it during the time he was working on my 3.4 all the while trash talking it.

How? It was introduced in the 1960's and the biggest upgrade since it was built was fuel injection. In the 1990's and 2000's it was outdated because it was just a regular overhead valve, single cam, pushrod V6 that was made of iron.

theres a reason it hasnt been changed since the 60s ITS THE BEST im pretty sure is a 350 missing 2 cylinders

Yes, there is reason for this. GM didn't want to pour any money into trying to develop a new V6, instead they put that money into developing the LT series and the LS series engines. Now GM has the much better 3.6 liter V6 that is inside the new Camaros.

You might have skipped over a few things and got a few details wrong. If you ment to say the 3800 was fuel injected in the mid 80's and the turbo version blew just about everything at the time off the road you are correct. If you ment to say it was used up till 2009 and was one of the longest running V6 configuration to date your would be right. If you ment to say that the Series 3 motor with a supercharger is a very desirable car and easily modded to 300 HP you would be correct.

Ever test drive one of those new v6s? They're garbage. Very disappointing cars. If I have 300hp...I wanna be able to hear, smell, and feel it; not hear nothing but an annoying electric whine, just sit there and not get thrown back in the seat when it's floored, and smell absolutely nothing...

I'm with Gorn on this one.
