front sway bar removal
i can get the passenger side off just fine but on the drivers side where the bushing bolts to the frame the bolts are frozen up. i tried to use a bunch of lubricating oil and im using a 3/4 inch breaker bar. the socket wont stay on straight and twists off. any suggestions?
use a six sided socket? u may have to get someone to push on the socket/bbar while u turn it. are u turning it the right way? remember when the bolts are upside down its the other direction. i still do that once in a while. actually sometimes if you tighten the bolt a little it helps to break it lose.
yeah I am turning it the right way. i got underneath the car to do it. i might try having someone push on it. plus i will let it soak in pb again for a while. i completely drenched the threads where they stick up and on the head side too. would an impact work. that would have a hell of a lot more torque than what i can make with my arms.
use the impact wrench as a last resort. once they strip the bolt head its a gonner. if are u replacing the bushings u may want to get the hack saw or the hot wrench out and invest in a new nut and bolt.
