Default front end conversion?

As many of you know, my uncle works at a wrecking yard. I can get parts extremly cheap, often times for free if it's not metal. I am curious about making my 96 look like the next body style, such as a 99, but only in the front end. I beleive that I will need basically the whole front end, including hood, bumper, fenders, and all headlight components. Will everything bolt on? Like I said, I can do this almost for free, not including the paint I will have to buy and spray myself.

If you replace the whole front end it's the same chassis, so it should all bolt up. Although I'm not sure why you would want to do that, I think the early 4th gen front end looks a little better, but I suppose it's all personal opinion.

Just something I'm thinking about. I like the lines of the later years. Just thought it would be something cheap and fun to do. I like trying new things, and making things look like what they aren't. It sure would screw people up, having a 96 that looked like a later 4th gen. I also don't have the money to buy a later camaro, and I think I can do this for about $100.

same chassis, but i dont think all the mounting points are the same. ie. you cant just slap a firebird front on a camaro i dont believe

You can't just slap a firebird front on a Camaro because all the body pannels are different between the two cars, so you're not going to get all the right lines from the doors etc, but they should all mount up in the same location, as long as its Camaro-Camaro or Firebird-Firebird you shouldn't have any issues.

lol, yeah, not looking for firmaro anywho. There's some nifty headlight options out there for the later front end.I'm also thinking about doing a body kit, so I won't need the front bumper, but still the fenders, hood, etc. Too many ideas, too little cash!
