Fix headgasket or replace motor on 3.4.
I have a 1994 chevy camaro v6. I drove it overheating for fifteen minutes, blew the headgasket and probably warped or cracked heads. If i replace the headgasket and machining or replacing heads it would cost around two thousand. I found a motor on craigslist a guy owns a shop and he wants four hundred for the motor and four hundred to install so about 900 after i figure gas to get there etc. He said it has 130,000 miles. My question is could i cause more damage to the motor or car by driving it two and a half hours away from my house. It hasnt got to the milky oil stage yet and dont want to mess up the vehicle any more than it is. Is the price on the motor fair and what questions should i ask like as far as what comes with it etc as i dont know much about what i should or shouldnt be getting. I want to get the car fixed and running like it used to.

If you really want to drive it then put some bars stop leak in it to get you where you need. You are changing the motor anyways so who cares if it messes up anything else. Why do you think it has a bad head Gasket?
