Default Exhaust ideas?

i want to get a new exhaust and headers, my budget is about 500. i know flowmaster is cheap but the ones ive heard sound ricey IMO. ive heard dynomax is a good exhaust but i cant find any to fit the 3.4. and im not sure if i should go with short, mid, or long tube headers. also i plan on deleting the cat if that changes anything. whatever combination gives me the most gain in HP is what ill go with. thanks guys!

Run a Magnaflow or Hooker catback. Both sound good and are fairly cheap. Dynomax will be loud and annoying.

If you come into some more money you want to throw at that 3.4 a top end swap and CAI will go nicely with those exhaust mods. That is if you want to maximize what you can get out of it.

Longtubes always.

but still, wouldn't bother on a 3.4, I'd just do a catback and call it a day, and as said above Magnaflow or Hooker Aerochamber.

Do you know any sites that have good deals on either of them?

Yeah one of my family members from NC is sending me a CAI from Hines racing. And what exactly does a top end swap consist of?

Are there any special requirements to use the LT's? And how much difference in power/sound would a full exhaust be vs a cat back?

switching out the upper and lower intake and heads with those from a grand am gt. From what I have read on these forums the 2000 seems to be what guys are using. If you are interested I would look up a thread on it, as much as i'd like to be the one behind the wrench im just an enthusiast (not that there is anything wrong with that)

no requirements, but im not even sure companies make longtubes for the 3.4. Hell, for the 3.8 there are really only midtubes available.

I wouldn't bother. Stick with a catback.
