i have a 2002 Camaro SS, it has a flowmaster catback exhaust, but im going to put the cutout before the cat of course. i have yet to get underneath the car so i was wondering, does it have a Y-pipe? if so that is where i would be putting the cutout. what diameter is the stock exhaust tubing?

 

Yes it does have a Y pipe. That being said, if you're going to so a cutout before the cat you're going to have to get 2, one for each branch of the Y. The stock Y pipe is 2.5" diameter.

 

like slvr said i would recommend doing it before, otherwise you wont really be doint anything but throwing money away. a single cutout after the cats is pretty worthless

 

With a cat-back a cutout after the cat will get you lots of noise and maybe a couple HP if you're lucky.

 

i wasnt planning on putting it after the cat. thats dumb.would ibe able to just put one cutout where the Y comes together? or is that right where the cat is?

 

The Y comes together right at the cat, so you're going to have a tough time getting just 1 before the cat.
