Eliminate A/C ????
1997 3.8 V6. Presently adding Pacesetter headers & exhaust, plus "chromeintake" CAI (thanks for the tip guys!). Anyway, my AC hasn't worked in over 5 years. Compressor leaks all over and the cheapest I was quoted to replace it was around $800; $1,100 at the dealer.
I would like to just remove the compressor, condensor, etc. and be done with it while I am doing the other upgrades. Hardly ever use the AC as this is a convertible anyway....got all the air I need. Is this hard to do? Got to believe I am wasting fuel and hp just watching the junk compressor spin around uselessly. Can I just remove it all and buy a serpentine belt for a 3.8 w/o air? any open ports that I'd have to close off?
Any tips would be appreciated.

actually you arent wasting gas or fuel unless you turn the a/c or heat on which engages a clutch which turns the compressor.it will take about 1-2 hours to remove it.you will need to buy an a/c delete panel and pulley.disconnect the heater lines, then there is about 8 bolts holding the unit to the firewall.i had to unbolt the dash to be able to pull the a/c system from the firewall.
