Electrical ECM question

My Trans lockup torq converter stopped working, then the opti-spark went crazy and stopped working, (all of this over 700 miles) then it ran OK for a few minutes then the ECM spit out several codes and engine runs poorly if at all. it looks like the ECM is bad.
Can the ECM being bad damage the opti-spark and other things?

i think opti should be ok, if its ok to begain with. what codes?

When it stopped running the opti had no power coming out, had power going to it. Replaced the opti and it ran fine (no codes) for a few minutes then it put out about 5 codes and not running correctly, I am not sure what the codes all were but they had to do with odd things such as fuel sensors and other electrical sensors . We think the ECM is bad.

i would not rule out a bad new opti.

While it's possible a pcm can go bad, it's very unlikely. More likely is too high or low a voltage going to it that can cause bogus codes. You have to tell us the actual codes for us to be of any help.
