Default EGR/AIR Deletes

Ive heard that the egr requires a tune otherwise it will effect performance... any truth to that? Anyways looking more into guides on how to do these deletes.... and where to pick up appropriate blocking plates.
Thanks in advance

EGR never effects performance since it is closed at WOT. If you did the EGR and AIR delete you can get the computer tuned so it will not report trouble codes, therefore no SES light will be lit.

And the SES wont retard the timing? If anyone has a guide or atleast pictures or an explanation of what needs to be removed it would be appreciated. I might be able to figure it out once Im taking my heads off, but other opinions are appreciated.

remove egr valve(you will need to plug it up after removing),remove air pump(get vacuum caps for the lines going to the intake manifold)

If you're going to have the heads off the car you're going to have to pull everything the AIR and EGR connect to, so just remove them when it's handy...
