Drivers side window acting odd
On my '95 my drivers side window has just started acting odd in the last week or so. When the car has been parked for an hour or so I can go out to leave and roll the window down just fine, but if I try to roll it back up right away it won't move. If I wait for a minute or two it will roll up an inch or two. Then after another minute it will roll up another inch or two. This continues to happen until it is all the way rolled up. However, if I get into the car after it has been parked for a while and roll the drivers side window all the way down and leave it down and go for a ten or fifteen minute drive and then try to roll the window up it rolls all the way up just fine. I am at a loss here. The passenger side window works perfectly as it should. It is just the drivers side window doing this, and it only started doing this in the last week or so.
Any ideas?

if it was the passenger side then you could try a mod but on the driver side its 99% that its the motor.

The window motors have internal circuit breakers that will trip and then reset after waiting a while. Eventuality they fail permanently. Try cleaning and re-greasing the window guide tracks to minimize friction if the window seems much slower than normal.
Another possibility: There is an external circuit breaker for the windows in the I/P fuse panel. Try swapping it with the defogger one next to it. They have the same purpose and operation (resetting after a wait time). This breaker is for both windows and you did say the passenger side is working fine, but it would be normal for the driver side to get more wear and bind more, possibly tripping the external breaker.

I appreciate the replies. I haven't really had the chance to tear into it much as I just bought a project car. Picked up a '73 Chevy Nova in good shape at a steal of a price and have been putting most of my time into it right now. I finally have some spare time now and am going to check into my window issue. Will keep you all updated.

Probably takes about an hour depending on your skills. You remove the door panel, drill some holes in the inner door frame for access to the rivets holding on the motor, drill out the motor (not the window regulator rivets!) rivets and remove the old motor, then install the new motor with bolts that usually come with the new motor. There are some procedures online in many places; mostly you need the location of the holes you drill.
