Drivers Side Window

Hi all,
The window at the drivers side of my 97 camaro stops when operating and I have to wait for sometime before I can operate it again.
Sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes before I can fully roll it up or down.

Has anybody experiences this and how do I resolve it

Yep, motor needs to be replaced. Make sure you take a look at the link craby posted and drill out the RIGHT rivets!

Have fun changing that window motor. They all go bad eventually.

if you change it yourself becare full. or have a good shop do it. i had someone do mine for me while it was in the shop. they didnt do a good job and didnt put it in right. the bolts they used started tearing at the inside of the door and it wouldnt roll up all the way. so make sure to have it fitted nice. might even want to drill some holes in like an 1/8 inch plate or smaller and use it for reinforcements. i had to have mine refiberglasses and i put a plate in also.

i read somewhere about running a relay and new power wire direct to the battery with aprox 10awg wire to increase the current flow going into the motor. the issue is also apparently due to under powering the motor itself. this fix apparently will also make your windows move up and down with super powers faster than ever before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7JbuUXNhSU
check out this vid on youtube.

here is a link to the actual web site for auto trix. the kit is 34.99 for the passenger window. http://www.autotrix.net/Product-Pass...Fix-Kit_1.aspx
but personally it is only two relay's and some wire and not really worth that imo. with a little know how it would be fairly easy to do minor electrical knowledge and shouldn't be a problem.

yeah my window did this and the motor was dying. I got 2 new motors from ebay for like $50 shipped!! brand new OEM stuff. The thing is that this is the same motor that older ASTRO minivans use too. So they are fairly cheap. I just did both. took about 5+ hours. When I did both for a friend and I knew what I was doing it took about 4hrs for both. that includes stopping to chat and snack every now and then :)

Thanks for the posting the video and link Carl Dan!

The process is fairly easy and very worthwhile. If you have a lot of these parts in the garage already it may be beneficial to try and assemble the kit yourself. Check our step by step instructions.

Acquiring all of these parts in-town will turn out more expensive for someone starting from scratch, I promise. If you can get all of the parts (equivant to our supplied parts ) in town for cheaper- I will lower the price. :icon_mrgreen:
