driver side shock to rearend nut spinning

Default driver side shock to rearend nut spinning

cant get it out, nor can i tighten it. how can i get this nut off? also a happy newyears to you all at CF

thanks for the fast response, i wasnt able to open the link but im assuming theres a tool that will somehow split the nut on the bolt? i cant get the grinder in there

also is that nut on there a 5/8 on the inside? i tried putting a 1/2 nut on the trread with no luck. i have the slp bilsteins.

I won't get into nut splitters. Being married as long as I have I've had my nuts split.........ahh, never mind.

anyway, put a open end wrench on the top of the shock stem which you reach from the inside of the vehicle and away you go.

Hmmm....being his title says "shock to rearend nut", I was figuring he was reefering to the lower nut, not the upper (body nut).

Set of torchs works wonders. I have gotten shocks off faster than it took the customer to tell me about all the things he tried that did not work. With a little practice you can be a like a surgeon with a torch

But good luck torching off the lower nut without giving the axle shock stud a melt down. That's where the issue is (according to the guys description).
