Doors
So like a dumbass i was going in reverse messing with a friend walking behind me and my passenger didnt close my door and it cought a mailbox and bent it to where it wouldn't close and i think the hinges are bent. Just wondering if anyone has messed with this stuff before?
The door is a metal frame, with a plastic skin. Same goes for the hinge pillar. So yeah, you could have bent either one, or both. Detailed pictures may help for us to see what got tweaked.
The bad thing about bending the front of the door frame, where the hinges mount up, is that it really takes a good body shop to fix it right.
I have seen several cars that once that front hinge frame gets bent, the door never seems quite right again.
If you lucked out and only mangled the door, then that is pretty easy to replace with one from a scrap yard.

Unless there is some major structural damage then a body shop is just going to yank and pull on that door until it straightens up. I'm not a body man , but I worked for a very large body shop for a couple of years and watched this being done over and over again.
And if you are wondering about my qualifications on this advise, I used to be a body man and painter. Check out my build log on Sarah and you can see what kind of work I can do. Oh and the door on Sarah while minor damage on the outside the entire door needed to be replaced because of damage to the inner structure.

I dont think the door is really bent at all its ether the hinges or the frame is bent a lil its just a hair to far forward when i try and close it. Got the bottom hinge to bolt up but couldn't quite get the top one to line up
Okay so got it bolted up really good and used a impact socket wedged between one side of the hinge to the other closeing the door to bend the hinge back flesh with the wall of the car which is what was actually tweaked and then i had to just lift up on the door real hard a few times and she slid right back into place
