Default Door Lock Trouble

Hello, I have a 98 Z28 that I am having a problem with. The power door lock on the drivers door will not lock the door. It makes a noise like it wants to, but it doesn't. The passenger side works fine. If you put the key in the driver side door lock it will not turn. The passenger side will turn. Would this cause the power lock not to work? I do not have a remote for the car. Would a remote help since the passenger side works?
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

a remote probably wouldn't help. It sounds like you either have an electric door lock actuator crapping out or you have linkage binding. Try pulling of the door panel with off with the window up so you can see whats happening inside.

When you try to lock the doors using the drivers side button, does the passenger side door lock? If not, then it would be the switch. If it does, then check the actuator and linkage as stated by bowtiemike.

Are the connecting rods attached? Possibly a "Frozen" Lock Cylinder?

Bought a new actuaror, still does not work. Measured power at the actuator, seem to be ok.

When I pull the fuse for the door locks and put it back it, it works but only one time !

Very strange !

Passenger side is ok.

Could it be the relay ? Where do I find it ?

replace the fuse and check to see if the connectors were the fuse plugs in are closed enough so the fuse tabs get a good connection. may have to bend them closed.

I have the same problem in mine, except its the other way around. Drivers side works, but passenger won't unlock, just lock. And i cant use the key in the passenger door either. I haven't had time to check it out so if you fix it let us know
