My drivers side doorhandle (outside) stopped working- the inside works as well as the lock- the handle just feels totally disconnected on the outside- what is involved in fixing this? I am assuming pull the door panel off etc- but what is the best way to attack it?

 

with a sheild and a pich fork.

 

Okay thenafter I slay the mighty door handleproblem; how do I go about actuallyfixing it?

 

the outside handle may have snaped, that what I can figure. Can you flip it up and down with no tention on it?

 

Yup no tension whatsoever

 

Time for a new handle or what?

 

sounds that way, if you pull off the door panel, you can see better what your dealing with.

 

i have the same problem when i sanded my doors, if you look at the inside of the door when its open on the side you can see a hanger type thing that connects to the door handle itself that opens the door from the outside, i will let you know more when i fix mine

I just had this happen to my car as well. I had someone fix it and it was just just a little clip that was old and fell apart.
