Default Daytime Running Light sensor

ok, I'm newbie meat here... but I did do a search for this and didn't find any other posts. I just bought a 2000 Camaro (2.8) and when I first got the car, the lights were on when I put the car in gear. I really like this over the amber lights only. anyway, I took the car to the shop to get the oil change and the inspection done and all of a sudden the amber lights come on during the day and the other lights come on at night. I know this is the way it is supposed to be but I like having the lights on when I'm driving (here in Dallas people cant see you unless you have your lights on!). what I am looking for is the sensor for the daytime running lights. I read that it is above the instrument panel but for the life of me I cant find it. I figure I could prolly just cover it up or something so it thinks it is dark all the time (haha). any suggestions?

Dave

Why not just turn the **** that will turn on your headlights? It's to the left of the steering wheel. And it's a 3.8

oops 3.8... I saw that right after I hit post! haha well thats what I'm doing now is turning on the lights... just kinda liked it when they came on when I put it in gear without thinking about it. I figured it wouldn't be too hard to change.

Sensor should be in the "vent" top the and middle of the dash. Should have a red security light in the vent I am talking about.
