What doesnt work about it. I have a 97 and I just got a wiring harness from wal-mart. The only problem i have is my center speakers dont work but Ive heard that is becuase some camaros had a built in amp and you need a factory stereo or you need to bypass the factory amp.

^^^x2 if u have the premium option stereo that has the stock amp then u have to wire dirrect to the speakers. did u check what crutchfield has? i like usin them, they send the kit and u can use the stereo/amp and if u dont like it u can send it back for another.

Best Buy does car audio installations all day, so I'd highly recommend asking them any questions you might have. They helped me out a bunch. Also, my old '95 was originally equipped with a Bose stereo, and the Alpine head unit had what was called a "factory amp interface" that went between the factory plugs and the plugs in the back of the unit.

ummm I do believe the radio pod/ area was differnt on the 96 and 97's which would explain why a 97 will not work on a 96.
