Default Cut heater hose? Causing coolant loss???

Alright well I saw this the other day on my "95 lt1 Camaro" and it never occurred to me but im pretty sure this hose that runs from the firewall then up to where the water neck is at is the heater core hose, and it stops near water neck (front of motor) And has a bleed valve maybe 6inches back but the cut end isn't sealed or connected (obviously) So iblew in it and could here the coolant moving so im guessing this is why my camaro looses coolant every once in awhile!
Now why would the last owner cut this, and should I just plug the end of it or would this cause more issues, thanks guys?

Sounds like your heater core has been bypassed. No, if only one end was disconnected that wouldn't cause a "once in a while" coolant loss, it would cause a waterfall and a drained block & radiator. Your heater core is probably bad/leaking, which would be the most common reason to bypass it. "Losing" coolant is a different issue, either from a slow external leak, or an internal engine leak (blown gasket).

i would suspect the bypass hose first, check clamps, make sure hose is on the nipple and is not split near the clamp. water pump is a common failure that can cause slow lose of coolant that is not easy to spot if its only leaking when motor heats up. as for the heater core, either the core is bad or the hose went bad and the po could not afford a new one or figure out how to install standard hose.

Ok well I haven't driven it much lately but It hasn't lost any coolant in the last 20miles (Multiple hard pulls from 2k to 5k) .... (YEA I KNOW I beat on her) and It didn't loose any coolant and still hasn't 5 days later.
Oh and yea it definetly doesn't have a blown head gasket lol that'd include 1 of a few things which are hard to miss like smoking, loss of power, or missing! Soit's gotta be something simple im missing!

Ok soi just got back from maybe a 30mile drive and around 20 miles into it I pulled over and touched raidiator cap and it wasn't hot so I slowly opened it and never heard any pressure being released and then I looked and the coolant was 100% full.
Then I drove 10 miles home and rite after turning it off I opened it and agin no air pressure was realeased and the coolant wasn't even super hot.
So is this because the last idiot wired my fans to come on whith the key and it doesn't get hot enough as temp gauge stays rite around 170-180 and its like 55-60F out here!

Jeeze. That's shorts and t-shirt weather here. But that'd definitely prevent the car from heating up. I'd suspect the thermostat is probably a 160 degree....if it's even there at all.
