Custom paint job
 

Hi i was wondering if i could figure out who painted my car. it is a 2000 Chevy camaro 3.8L v6 i wasnt sure who to ask so i decided to post here. the vin for the car is 2G1FP22KXY2161149. the reason i am asking is because it has a very specific paint job in that its got custom white stripes with the playboy bunny logo ghosted into them. there is a big playboy bunny painted between the stripes on the hood. on both sides on the car along the bottom of the doors is the word "Playboy" and around the mirror area there is a very detailed airbrushed playboy bunny logo. the car is red with gold flake and a overcoat. ive been trying to figure out if maybe an actual playboy owned the car or if it was at the mansion. thanks for your time.

If your car was painted as part of the playboy mansion, I would expect there be some type of signature or plaque on the car somewhere.
Most likely it was done to satisfy a playboy fanatic's dream. Or your car was once owned by a pimp! ;)

lol thanks. do you know of anyway to figure out who painted the car perhaps? my driver door got alittle messed up and because it is custom and gold flake possibly pearlized it would be nearly impossible to match

Good body shops have a scanner that can read the color of your car to get a match. That's fine for normal colors, but gold flake and pearlizing can make matching difficult since that may have been applied by the painter's own special blend and technique. Best to take the car to a shop that specializes in custom paint jobs and see if they think they can match it....as close as possible at least.

Sounds like you need to repaint the whole thing something unaweful anyway.

The larger paint house can scan the paint in and the software will detect the the metal flake subtract it out, it will give you the base color and the size, color concentration of the flake to be mixed it.

I saw that in 2006. I am sure it is a lot more common now. I would think if it was painted in the last 10 years there pictures on the net somewhere but who knows.

OMG! I've never seen a paint job like this. It reminds me of the "Pussy Wagon" in Kill Bill.
