Cruise Control

i have a 95 3.4 and the cruise hasnt worked since i got the car. no light on the dash when you try to turn it on and just no cruise in general. has anyone else had this problem? i tried too look at it real fast at the shop today but ran out of time. so any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Check your third brake light (the one in the spoiler), and make sure they're not burned out. No light comes on when you use the cruise anyways.

3rd brake light is good.

How about under the hood. There should be two cables going to the throttle body lever. One for the pedal, and one for the cruise control. Perhaps it's disconnected.

both cables are connected. i started there and worked my way down to the cruise moduel and began checking voltage on all the pins but then i got busy at work and had too put my car off.

i guess u need to take ur car to the GM service center and they wud fix it for u.. i guess they reprogram the computer or something to fix it. so give it a shot..

yea i could always do that but i dont like paying people too work on my cars bc i am more than capable of doing it myself i just was looking for some advice of where too go next or a shorter way of figuring this out. plus the gm dealers close too me have idiots in the service dept.

I have problems with my cruise too. For me it depends on the weather because if it's cool out it kicks right into cruise but if it's warm ~80+ I have to giggle the switch and turn it on and off a few times for it to work and sometimes it ends up not working at all. I don't know if this a common problem or not, but I don't know how to fix it.
