Default Convince Me Guys (on an LS1)

Ok so, if you guys remember, i use to have a 97Z28... and now I have an 06 GT... Well im going off to college and want a more subtle and less standout ish V8...(the stang is like...EXTREMELY loud and obnoxious) Right now I put down 343rwhp, and though i havent gone the quarter, people with similar mods have run low 12s (avg 12.4)... I test drove a 1999 SS today (and am looking at a 2000 T/A) and wow...it felt really slow...the SS is going for $15,988 with 50,000 miles and the T/A is going for $13,300 with 47,000 miles... So while i want to do this... i need to know... what kinds of mods/how much am i looking to spend to get either of those cars to low 12s or high 11s? and is it worth trading a 2006 Mustang GT 5sp Premium with 24,000 miles for? and are those asking prices reasonable?

So convince me...

1...2...3...GO!

Why in the world would you trade? Really, a 06 Stang for an 02 F body, Buy a 4 year older car so you can modify it to make it as fast as the car you already have? You know the price of the 4th gens is going to crash as soon as more 5th gen hit the street. I know 2 guys that have 02's that will be trading them ASAP on a 5th gen. By the end of the summer the used market will be flooded with 02. Don't get me wrong they are great cars but a cars price ,like anything else, is supply and demand and the upper end of this demand will be upgrading to 2010's

I hope they don't boot me off the boards for this

I for one have to agree,we have an '05 Mustang vert (wifes car) and it's a great car.
I love Camaros but what you are thinking of doesn't make much sense to me.
Why not just tone down the exhaust on your Stang a bit with a quieter system and keep it.

the headrests on the S197's are terrible. I own both cars, an 07 stang and a 95 f body.

I can drive all day in the f, about 150 miles in the stang.

As for loud and obnoxious, sorry, i ain't buying it.

My F body is a heck of a lot louder than my stang. The 4.6 is not that loud, even with open headers.

s197s aren't loud open header, it gets louder as the exhaust is refined, for example, longtubes, o/r mid pipes, and muffler deletes. neither of my fbodies were near as loud as the mustang, whether with headers, no muffler, the slps, nor the cutouts.
