I have an 2002 v6 camaro.. and I was wondering why my cigarette lighter fuse keeps blowing out? Everytime a new fuse is placed, itimmediately goes out.Anybody know?

Because something in the circuit is drawing more amps the the fuse is rated for. Any other questions?

Could be a short. Or could be junk stuck down in the litter its self. We once had a big issue with a copper penny stuck down in the end. It made for a hole mess of problems.[:@]

Sorry for the bad sense of humor. The most common electrical complaint in my history is the lighter fuse is blowing or my battery is draining over night. 99% of the time its is cause either by the lighter itself (most people figure that one out) or the socket it fits into. What you most likely have is a shorted lighter socket. Easy to check just disconnect it and try another fuse.Easy tofix every parts store carries tthem.

ya, that shouldnt ever draw too much current. check for a loose wire or something solid completing the circuit

Yes.. It was the socket that was in the lighter that was blowing it out. Thank you !!
