coil spring suggestions...

I dont know what the car has right now as the previous owner already dropped it.

It has CZ rims (supposedly corvette rims I guess) and they are pretty wide, I think 315's in the rear. anyway, even minor bumps and the rear tires hit the quarter panels. I will already need new tires just because of this issue.

I want either super stiff springs or something that will take it back to stock height would probly work. I'm thinking that factory springs may still be too spongy and allow the tires to hit still though. any suggestions?

hopefully cheap suggestions. I just spent $3600 on a performance emmissions legal exhaust so I could keep it registered. now it would be nice to be able to drive it.

also this is a 97 T/A. I assume the same springs as the camaro.

are they rubbing on the outside of the tire against the fender edge? have your thought of trying one of these?

You really have to know how to use a fender roller to use it. If you are planning on using it you need a heat gun to heat up the paint without burning the paint as you need to get the paint soft so it will not crack while rolling the fender.

If the tire is touching the fender lip you have a big safety issue and the correct fix is to downsize the tire width to fit in the fender.

yep gotta read the directions before using,,, lol and follow them. some of the guys do it just before painting, but so long as you take your time and follow instructions should work. he hasnt said if it was rubbing on the inside or out yet, some of the vette wheels will rub on the inside if a spacer is not used.

If they are 17" or bigger wheels, these are required in the rear, under the jounce bumper:

The best lowering springs seem to be Strano's:

i think they are 18's but i could be wrong. you have any pics of where these go? is this like some sort of stopper? or does it raise it up?

I'm thinking its already too low. And these springs are 14 lbs. less than other lowering springs so I doubt they are stiffer.

I need either really stiff springs or to go back to stock height. and I think the quarter panels on the car are already rolled.

check and see if the spring isolators/cushions are still there. it could be someone lowered by taking the isolators out and putting a hose on the spring. otherwise youll have to find some stock springs.

Just came across this thread. As an update I did purchase a fender roller, the cheaper knock off of the expensive one you see everywhere. It was not that bad of a job, of course I didn't care about saving the paint because a repaint is in my plans. If you are worried about the paint, keeping it from chipping would not be very easy. But anyway this did do the trick and the tires haven't rubbed the fenders since.
